Reflections on a year gone by…
Another year is coming to a close and before we get out the pen and pad to work on our resolutions, we should take a moment to reflect on the year gone by. I don’t know why we do this; but we tend to focus on all the things that we need to change and hardly acknowledge how far we’ve come.
2015 for me has been a year of Introspection. I’ve had the luxury of spending a lot of time with myself due to being on maternity leave for 10 of the last 12 months. That time has helped me realize that sometimes you have to let go of some things to make room for other things to blossom. In 2015 I said goodbye to portrait photography and rediscovered my passion for writing, food and art.
In the past year I’ve also developed a deep appreciation for life. It feels like this year was here to teach me the value of life, and how fleeting it can be. I can say that 2015 has definitely given me a deep sense of gratitude for each and every breath.
I’m still working on so much, every day as a human is a learning experience.
And while I understand the need to look ahead to areas of growth and improvement. We must stop every now and then to acknowledge what we’ve learned and how much we’ve grown.
What are some ways you’ve grown in 2015?
Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2016!
